Asian Terminals appoints new EVP

William Wassaf Khoury Abreau has been appointed executive vice present of port operator Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), replacing Andrew Hoad who will be moving to a new regional post.

In a regulatory disclosure, ATI said its Board in a special meeting on February 2 appointed Abreu effective March 17, subject to the completion of requirements from the Bureau of Immigration and Department of Labor and Employment.

Abreu, a national of the Dominican Republic, is currently the vice president/director at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) in Indonesia. Prior to this, he served as chief executive officer of DP World-Saigon Premier Container Terminal-Vietnam from 2010 to 2014; operations director of DP World South Korea from 2009 to 2010; and held various management positions at DP World Caucedo, Dominican Republic from 2003 to 2009, and CSX World Terminals from 2001 to 2003.

He obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in 2000 in the Dominican Republic and a post-graduate diploma in Port Management, from Shipping and Transport College/ International Maritime Transport Academy in Rotterdam in 2001.

Hoad will be moving on to assume a new regional position in the Asia Pacific. Hoad has been EVP of ATI since 2012.

Aside from Hoad, Rashed Ali Hassan Abdulla, who has held the position of ATI Board chairman and director since 2013, will be appointed to a new regional position overseas.

Prior to their posts in ATI, both Abdulla and Hoad have held different positions in global port operator DP World, which owns stakes in ATI.

ATI operates Manila South Harbor, Batangas Port, Port of General Santos, and off-dock container yards in Manila and Laguna.
