CEVA Logistics is the official logistics partner of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, providing transport and logistical support.

CEVA teams are tasked with ensuring the smooth transportation and operational support of the Games villages, athlete accommodations, and venues, among others.

A major part of the logistics involved the setting up of the Games villages, according to the company’s website.

CEVA is charged with overseeing the logistics for the main Games village in Saint-Denis; the athletes’ villages in Chateauroux, Lille, Marseille; and the media village. These villages will house approximately 15,000 athletes and 8,000 crew members across both events.

The main Games village consists of accommodations, eateries, a medical clinic, a gymnasium and leisure and green spaces.

With more than 68,000 square meters of warehousing space, CEVA teams have carefully stored, transported and assembled more than 225,000 pieces of furniture and household items—from beds and coffee makers down to the very last pillow.

Each national team has specific requirements that CEVA has addressed to ensure comfort and a high standard for the prestigious events.

There are more than 75 buildings in the main Games village.

CEVA employees are on the ground setting up every aspect of the village, including a dining hall where more than 60,000 meals are served daily.

Over 200 staff, including team leads, operations managers, and temporary workers—all trained in-house—devote their time and energy to this elaborate setup. An additional 100 employees are brought in to support operations during the Games.

For the duration of the events, CEVA’s onsite village support will extend to serve as the Games villages’ logistics concierge. Need a new coffee pot in your room? Cafeteria low on supplies? Need a bottle of water in the middle of the night? CEVA is there to help. The company’s multilingual, multicultural staff operates a 24/7 support desk, promptly addressing every request and issue through a digital management system.

At the Games’ closing, CEVA teams will quickly transition the Olympic Village to the Paralympic Village in just four days. CEVA will refresh all accommodations, ensure venues are accessible, and handle the smooth transition between the two sporting events.

At the end of the Paralympics, CEVA teams will carefully disassemble the massive Games infrastructure. These village buildings are slated for repurposing as public housing and commercial spaces; thus, every item must be meticulously inventoried, transported, and stored for future use or distribution. CEVA will deploy around 500 people to perform the takedown of the Games villages, the company said.
