AG&P leases a huge tract of land at the Batangas port.

More activities than just ship calls and cargo handling are being planned for Batangas Port. This after the Aquino government recently segregated parts of the Batangas port zone (BPZ) for the energy projects of the Department of Energy (DOE).

Areas of the 4,522,422 square meters BPZ that fall within the jurisdiction of the Philippine Ports Authority have been designated for energy projects under Executive Order No. 170, signed on July 25 by President Benigno Aquino III.

The designated places will contain sites for power-generation and auxiliary facilities, including fuel-handling, storage and processing facilities. These are part of the DOE’s committed power projects and development plans for natural gas infrastructure to meet the urgent and long-term energy needs of the country.

Industrial process outsourcing company AG&P also leases 1,500,000 square meters of land at the Batangas port. AG&P provides fabrication and assembly, modularization and asset management services to the oil & gas, mining, power and civil infrastructure sectors. – Text and photo by Roumina Pablo
