Supply chain stakeholders will tackle industry challenges and opportunities at this year’s Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP) Supply Chain Conference, the association’s first in-person conference in two years.

The SCMAP Supply Chain Conference on September 22-23 at the EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City will also be available online. Delegates may choose to participate in person or virtually and have access to the exhibition area (for in- person) and the virtual event platform with online networking facilities and on-demand video of all sessions.

The two-day event “goes beyond the usual supply chain topics, to explore the bigger picture, understand the far-reaching impact of the profession, and hopefully compel stakeholders to work towards a more competitive supply chain,” SCMAP said.

“As the sector is still facing challenges and anticipating disruptions, this year’s conference will look at issues and opportunities through the perspective of different stakeholders and players, forming one supply chain moving forward.”

These challenges, the association said, include changing customer behavior due to the pandemic; the “combined effects of logistical bottlenecks, geopolitical concerns and rising prices” that has resulted in “more unprecedented times for everyone across the supply chain.”

SCMAP said: “The supply chain sector is in a critical moment of transition. In the Philippines, the entry of a new administration provides new opportunities for further collaboration in addressing lingering issues affecting our ability to keep the economy going. Around the world, there is a wider recognition of the key role supply chains play in the health of economies, communities and families alike. It has never been more important for supply chain players to come together and work towards common goals. It is important that we become one supply chain moving forward.”

Conference discussions will revolve around the following topics: supply chain amid transitions and disruptions, elevating supply chain talent through extraordinary times, thriving despite shifting supply chain paradigms, and embracing innovative thinking across supply chains.

Speakers include Anti-Red Tape Authority officer-in-charge and deputy director general for operations Atty. Ernesto Perez; Nestlé Philippines head of supply chain and procurement Anderson Martins; LF Logistics senior vice president and head of country and business development Joyce Ramos; DHL Supply Chain Philippines country head-human resources Katrina Soliveres; Fast Logistics Group chief executive officer for logistics Manny Onrejas; and ShopSM vice president and general manager Jayan Dy.
