More Philippine airports are being allowed to accept commercial flights by local government units (LGUs).

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), there are 26 airports whose LGUs have allowed commercial operation of flights as of June 18.

Six airports are set to start accepting commercial flights on later dates.

Some airports, while allowing commercial flights, are subject to different documentary and passenger LGU restrictions, said CAAP.

At the beginning of the lockdown in mid-March until very recently to fight COVID-19, all Philippine airports were closed to commercial passenger flights except for cargo and sweeper flights.
