The Bureau of Customs-Manila International Container Port (MICP) on seized August 22 four luxury yachts moored at Manila International Container Terminal.

The vessels were identified as Le Boss (approximately 70-footer), Yuzhen8 (55-footer), Yua Hal Ming Zhu (110-footer, and Gu Cheng Gang Guan (59-footer).

Estimated to have a total market value of P120 million, the yachts were used as a residence, for transport services, and commercially offered as venue for events and private use without the conversion permit for local use as well as payment of duties and taxes.

The vessels were apprehended by virtue of a seizure order issued by MICP district collector Romeo Allan Rosales in accordance with Section 1113 of Republic Act 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).

Rosales stressed vehicles, including water vessels, must be imported in accordance with Philippine customs laws and registered with Philippine authorities such as the Maritime Industry Authority.
