  • 2GO is the only passenger cargo shipping line operating from Manila to the Visayas and Mindanao and back

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has accredited 2GO Group Inc. as a tourism water transport operator. Its eight passenger and cargo ships also gained tourism water vessel accreditation.

The accreditation means 2GO has met DOT’s rigorous process for industry benchmarking to provide travelers with a reliable and convenient sea travel experience, 2GO said in a statement.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized and accredited by DOT as we continue to provide the utmost safety, comfort and convenience to our passengers. This accreditation solidifies our commitment to excellence,” said Apollo Santos, 2GO vice president for ship management and technical services.

2GO is the only passenger cargo shipping line operating to and from Manila to the Visayas and Mindanao.

2GO vessels offer an elevated sea travel experience with hotel-like accommodations, onboard entertainment and amenities, the company said.

Passengers are also offered fresh meals through restaurants onboard the vessels, as well as retail offerings from SM partner brands such as MINISO, Kultura, Goldilocks, Brownies Unlimited, and Watsons. 2GO is a subsidiary of SM Investments Corp.

The logistics service provider said it continues to promote local tourism actively by participating in exhibitions and travel fairs where 2GO can unveil its travel portfolio to industry peers and travel enthusiasts.

Blessie Cruz, 2GO senior assistant vice president and head of group marketing, said 2GO was “able to highlight sea travel as an alternative to exploring the country.”

“Sea travel is more than a mode of transport but an experience. 2GO vessels are fully equipped with amenities travelers can enjoy, creating lasting memories of their adventure.”

From August 8 to 12, 2023, 2GO is offering a seat sale for as low as P88. Travelers can explore Manila, Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Coron, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Ozamiz, Tagbilaran and Zamboanga from September 15 to October 31.
