2GO Group, Inc. and Cebu Pacific have commissioned an x-ray machine at 2GO’s gateway hub in Parañaque, enabling the end-to-end transport solutions provider to extend cut-off time for air cargo acceptance.

The upgrade aims to optimize the movement of goods via air to and from Manila and various parts of the country, providing businesses with more flexibility in terms of cargo acceptance without compromising delivery deadlines, 2GO said in a statement.

In particular, the newly-installed x-ray machine enables 2GO to extend the cut-off time for cargo acceptance, giving partners additional time to prepare their shipments while still adhering to stringent delivery schedules.

It also significantly reduces processing times, allowing for immediate loading and transfer to Cebu Pacific aircraft, especially for highly-sensitive pharmaceutical products, perishables, and temperature-controlled items. 2GO said this enhancement not only ensures faster delivery but also improves security measures by thoroughly screening prohibited items, safeguarding the supply chain’s integrity.

“At 2GO, we are continually seeking ways to innovate and improve our services,” 2GO Forwarding business unit head Faye Alonzo said.

“The introduction of this state-of-the-art x-ray machine is a testament to our dedication to achieving efficiency and customer satisfaction. We look forward to showcasing our increased flexibility to our partners,” Alonzo added.

2GO Group chief financial officer Will Howell said they are excited to further strengthen partnership with Cebu Pacific, which has named 2GO as its Top Domestic Agent for 2023.

Howell said the new equipment enables the logistics service provider to leverage technology and extend service capabilities.

For her part, Cebu Pacific group director for cargo commercial Bonita Busch said: “2GO Forwarding was one of our most significant logistics partners last year, and we aim to strengthen this partnership by offering tools that enhance their operations and improve the quality of cargo checks before flying with us.”

Busch added that “the reduced processing time and extended cut-off hours perfectly align with our shared commitment to delivering timely and efficient services to our customers.”

Aside from airfreight, 2GO offers less-than-container load and full container load shipside services, catering to diverse shipping needs and complemented by an extensive fleet of trucks. 2GO said its ongoing upgrade to its fleet and infrastructure aims to reinforce its position as a leading logistics provider in the Philippines, supporting the growing e-commerce sector that demands rapid and reliable delivery services.
