Three (3) Mindanao airports, in Butuan, Davao and Zamboanga, have recently seen improvements, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
In a statement, CAAP said the expansion of Butuan Airport’s passenger terminal building was completed on December 16, 2022 at a cost of P17,652,405.13. The ground floor expanded by 324 square meters and the mezzanine by 108 square meters.
At the Davao International Airport, brand-new escalators are about to be installed at the passenger terminal building’s domestic arrival and check-in lobby areas.
The Zamboanga International Airport, meanwhile, underwent clearing operations for accumulated garbage at the creek which flows under the runway due to previous torrential rains and recent flooding.
