FAST Logistics Group has committed to achieving net-zero emission by 2050 as it launched its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, marking a major step in the end-to-end logistics service provider’s sustainability journey.

The commitment and strategy were announced during the second day of the 2025 Supply Chain Conference organized by the Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP).

In its decarbonization roadmap, FAST is targeting a 55% reduction in direct emissions by 2030, using 2023 as its baseline. The company also pledged to cut Scope 1 (direct emissions) and 2 (indirect emissions) greenhouse gas emissions, reduce waste and packaging, and invest in green technologies across its operations.

“Our journey to Net Zero is a transformation of how we power, move, and manage logistics,” FAST Logistics chief executive officer for logistics Manuel Onrejas Jr. said in a statement.

“Every step we take to cut emissions brings us closer to a future where sustainability drives competitiveness,” Onrejas added.

FAST’s ESG strategy is anchored on four key priorities. These are promoting customer satisfaction and welfare, creating a safe and empowered workplace, transitioning to a low-carbon economy, and ensuring strong governance and risk management.

FAST noted the significant scale of its commitment, as the group operates the country’s largest warehouse footprint covering over two million square meters, with more than one million pallet positions, a billion annual case throughput, and a transport fleet of over 3,100 trucks.

In recognition of its sustainability initiatives, FAST received the Sustainability and Green Logistics Award at the 2024 SCMAP Supply Chain Excellence Awards for pioneering the use of green technologies in Philippine logistics.

In early 2024, the company rolled out the industry’s first fully electric truck, which utilizes solar-powered electric vehicle charging stations, as well as GPS and AI dashcam. Three of FAST’s major warehouses are also fully operating on 100% renewable energy.

Onrejas said FAST’s commitment goes beyond operations, aligned with its long-standing mission of providing “Logistics Para sa Bayan,” which is about “serving people and the planet.”

“Logistics can be a force for both progress and sustainability,” he added.
