Aboitiz InfraCapital is investing P4 billion to expand BIZ HUB, a business district within the LIMA Estate economic zone in Batangas.

The expansion will increase Batangas’ first master-planned business district to 70 hectares from 40 hectares within the nearly 1,000-hectare LIMA Estate in Lipa-Malvar and will feature 21 commercial lots ranging from 1,100 to 2,300 square meters each, the company said in a news release on July 1.

“The Aboitiz Group has proudly served this community for over a decade,” said Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, president of LIMA Land and head of Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates. “Our continuous investment in LIMA Estate underscores our confidence in Batangas’ potential as a top-tier investment hub and reaffirms our commitment to supporting the government’s vision of a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society. We see ourselves as partners, providing world-class facilities to help investors capitalize on the Philippines’ advantages.”

Cosette Canilao, president and CEO of Aboitiz InfraCapital, added, “We are glad for the government’s recognition of the opportunities that lie in this area, and for their commitment to unlocking its full potential with real support and investment. As always, we at Aboitiz InfraCapital are ready to work with the public sector to drive nationwide economic growth that benefits all Filipinos.”

Philippine Economic Zone Authority director general Tereso Panga said the development is aligned with the transformation of ecozones into integrated, mixed-use, and sustainable townships. “The Biz Hub signifies a pivotal moment in ecozone development as we continue to transform our ecozones into integrated and mixed-use developments, smart, self-containing, and self-sustaining townships, where our investors, their families and the community can work, live, and enjoy,” he said. “We are positive that this new venture will be a blueprint, one that will be emulated by top developers and business leaders in the country.”

LIMA Estate hosts 180 locators, 71,000 employees, and over 4,000 households. It claims to be the first and largest 5-Star BERDE-District Certified Estate in the Philippines, a recipient of the Smart City Award from the ESG Business Awards 2023, and the Best Green Development in the Philippines in 2022 and 2023 from PropertyGuru.
