AGX Group Berhad has restructured its leadership team as part of a broader strategy to deepen management capability and accelerate regional expansion, appointing Maximino Baylen Gulmayo Jr. as group chief commercial officer.
The regional logistics and freight forwarding provider announced on February 12, 2026 that Gulmayo, previously country managing director of AGX Express Phils. Inc., will now oversee the group’s commercial strategy, business development initiatives, and key customer relationships.
The company said it received a letter of confirmation dated February 9, 2026, from Gulmayo accepting the promotion.
He will be succeeded by Aldrich Espino, currently senior general manager of AGX Philippines, who will take charge of operations in one of the group’s key regional markets.
Espino, a certified public accountant, joined AGX Philippines in 2013 as one of its pioneer employees. He has held leadership roles across finance, operations, and sales, most recently serving as senior general manager for sales and customer service.
Gulmayo holds a Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration from John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation. With more than 30 years of experience in domestic shipping, air and sea freight, customs brokerage, and road transport, he co-founded AGX Philippines in 2012 and led the expansion of the group’s logistics network and operational footprint in the country.
“These appointments reflect our recognition of proven capability, long-term commitment, and consistent performance within the Group,” said Dato’ Ponnudorai A/L Periasamy, group chief executive officer of AGX.
“Mr. Maximino has played a pivotal role in building AGX Philippines into a key growth engine and his appointment allows us to leverage his commercial leadership at the Group level. Mr. Aldrich’s promotion reflects our strong talent pipeline and succession planning,” Periasamy said.
