Logistics company Airspeed recently upgraded its warehouse to a temperature-controlled storage facility.

The hub, located in Parañaque City, offers a 200-square-meter staging area leading into 2,000 sqm of temperature-controlled space equipped with 1,358 fully-racked pallets stacked five stories high, and four loading bays.

In a statement, Airspeed said the upgrade is part of several new specialized logistics services it has introduced to the market to complement a variety of core services to help satisfy new demands from businesses and individuals.

The warehouse can now house products that need temperature-sensitive solutions such as perishable food and beverages, supplements and vitamin products, and cosmetics.

A transparent PVC partition curtain prevents dust from entering the warehouse and helps maintain a temperature of 18°C to 28°C. Inside the storage area, about 20 CCTV cameras have been installed to constantly monitor incoming and outgoing activities. The facility is also guarded 24/7 to ensure the products are secure.

To complement the facility, Airspeed invested in a warehouse management software (WMS) to efficiently manage the inventory and equipment, track orders, and increase product velocity. The WMS also supports operational executions to be able to serve more clients and meet market demand, Airspeed noted.

It said that with efficient temperature-controlled warehouses like this, goods are protected and their shelf life extended. Thus, manufacturing companies need not worry about product damage and spoilage, while customers are assured of receiving only quality products.
