The Association of International Shipping Lines (AISL) has successfully conducted the kickoff session of its continuing education program as part of its commitment to enhance competencies of its member lines and industry partners.
The program, “A Short Course on Shipping Operations!” was conducted on March 11 and brought together professionals eager to deepen their knowledge of the shipping industry, AISL said in a statement.
The one-day intensive training program was designed to fast-track participants’ understanding of shipping operations, providing them with essential industry insights, key terminologies, and hands-on knowledge of shipping processes, documentation, and compliance.
The session was conducted by Joseph Collantes, operations and logistics manager at RCL Philippines, Inc., whose pragmatic and engaging teaching methodology ensured an interactive and insightful learning experience, AISL noted.
The association said it initiated the training as part of its long-term goal of upgrading and honing the skillsets of member lines operating in the Philippines.
Recognizing the ever-evolving landscape of the maritime industry, AISL said it aims to provide a platform for continuous learning, ensuring that shipping professionals remain well-equipped to navigate industry challenges and advancements.
Participants received a comprehensive training workbook and a Certificate of Completion, marking their engagement in the course, which featured interactive discussions, case studies, and practical applications.
As AISL continues to expand its educational offerings, the association said the kickoff session serves as a foundational step in a broader continuing education program for AISL member lines and industry partners.
More sessions and advanced courses will be held by AISL president Patrick Ronas and executive director Maximino Cruz, the association said.
