The Association of International Shipping Lines, Inc. (AISL), representing international container shipping companies calling Philippine ports, hereby expresses its steadfast support to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) under the dynamic and principled leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno.
AISL recognizes the vital role of the BOC in safeguarding national revenues, facilitating legitimate trade, and upholding integrity and transparency in customs administration. The reforms and modernization efforts championed by Commissioner Nepomuceno—anchored on accountability, operational efficiency, and industry collaboration—are strongly aligned with AISL’s advocacy for a predictable, transparent, and globally competitive logistics and port environment.
In particular, AISL conveys its appreciation for the BOC’s continued initiatives to:
- Enhance trade facilitation through digital transformation and streamlined processes;
- Promote port efficiency and predictability, enabling the shipping community to serve the Philippine supply chain more effectively;
- Strengthen border security, ensuring safe and secure maritime and cargo operations;
- Uphold constructive dialogue with industry stakeholders through consultative mechanisms, policy engagements, and open communication;
- Champion integrity and professionalism within the Bureau, thereby fostering a regulatory environment built on trust and accountability.
AISL commits to remain an active partner of the BOC in advancing shared goals for the maritime, trade, and logistics sectors. The Association will continue to participate in policy consultations, extend technical expertise when needed, and collaborate closely with the Bureau to ensure the sustained growth of the Philippine economy and the seamless movement of international trade.
As his special brand of leadership and vision continues to stimulate and inspire, AISL looks forward to deeper cooperation with the Bureau of Customs —predicated upon mutual respect, transparency, and a shared mission of national development.
United in purpose, AISL stands ready to support the Bureau of Customs under his stewardship as it builds a more efficient, secure, and globally competitive customs administration for the Philippines.
