The newly completed Bonifacio Global City (BGC)-Ortigas Center Road Link Project was inaugurated by President Rodrigo Duterte on October 1.

The P1.79-billion project linking Pasig and Taguig aims to decongest traffic on EDSA and C-5 and improve accessibility within the central business districts of Metro Manila, , according to Public Works Secretary Mark Villar.

It will reduce travel time between BGC and Ortigas Central Business District to 11 minutes from an hour. The road will serve as an alternative corridor to EDSA and C-5 along the section of Guadalupe Bridge and Bagong Ilog Bridge.

The project involved construction of the four-lane Sta. Monica-Lawton Bridge across Pasig River, connecting Lawton Avenue in Makati and Sta. Monica Street in Pasig City, as well as the rehabilitation and widening of Brixton Street to Fairlane Street in Pasig.

It also involved building the 565-meter Lawton Avenue-to-BGC viaduct that traverses Lawton Avenue onwards to the entrance of BGC.
