Twenty-one seized smuggled motor vehicles worth P58.55 million were destroyed simultaneously by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in Manila and Cagayan de Oro on June 18.

Seven motor vehicles seized by the collection districts of Manila International Container Port (MICP), Port of Manila (POM), and Subic port were gathered and condemned in the premises of BOC’s headquarters in POM, the customs bureau said in a statement.

The seven motor vehicles were one brand-new McLaren 620R and one used Hyundai Genesis from POM; one used Bentley 2007, one used Porsche 911 C2S, and one used Mercedes-Benz from MICP; and one Lotus and one Toyota Solara from Subic port.

Fourteen knocked-down used Mitsubishi Jeeps, which were seized by BOC-Cagayan de Oro, were also destroyed on June 18 at Diamond Logistic in Baloy, Brgy. Tablon, Cagayan de Oro.

The motor vehicles were shipped into the country by different consignees and seized on separate occasions from 2018 to 2020.

The June 18 condemnation followed the February 9 destruction of 17 motor vehicles that were seized at MICP, Port of Cebu, and POM.
