The Bureau of Customs (BOC) inaugurated the newly renovated Port of Clark building led by Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio and BOC-Clark Acting District Collector Jairus Reyes on November 12 at the Clark Freeport Zone.
The BOC-Port of Clark’s newly refurbished building is a major “milestone symbolizing enhanced services and a strengthened commitment to stakeholders,” the bureau said in a news release.
The renovation, viewed as an upgrade for the BOC’s operational efficiency, reflects the agency’s commitment to fulfilling its mandates of border protection, trade facilitation, and revenue collection.
Reyes remarked on the importance of the renovation, stating, “Today is more than just the unveiling of a new building. It represents the collective efforts, commitment, and vision of our Bureau to provide a more efficient, welcoming, and supportive environment for both our staff and the stakeholders we serve,” which aligns with the Five-Point Priority Program and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for effective government services and employee welfare.
Clark Development Corp president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera extended her congratulations to the bureau, highlighting the impact of Customs’ work in the freeport zone. “This newly renovated building is a testament to the dedication and progress at the Bureau of Customs, and I am incredibly proud of the work being done here. It will not only support Customs personnel in fulfilling their duties more effectively but will also greatly benefit the entire Clark Freeport Zone.”
Key officials in the Clark Freeport Zone, including Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation president and CEO Noel Manankil, as well as representatives from the Clark International Airport Corporation and Bases Conversion and Development Authority attended the inauguration ceremony.
