The Bureau of Customs-Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) exceeded its January target collection by 3%, taking in P20.023 billion.
“Our success is a result of the collective efforts of our stakeholders and the men and women of MICP. This momentum not only supports economic stability but also funds vital public services,” BOC-MICP district collector Rizalino Torralba said in a statement.
Looking ahead, Torralba is optimistic they will also meet their February 2025 target while also advocating for continued collaboration to fulfill the bureau’s core mandates of boosting revenue collection, improving trade facilitation, and strengthening border protection.
Last February 26, BOC-MCIP welcomed eight new member organizations under its Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC), increasing its membership to 32 organizations.
Created under Customs Memorandum Order No. 02-2024, CICAC is a consultative body with industry groups to enlist their support and active participation in advancing the reform agenda of the bureau. It also aims to help address existing and potential issues related to Customs and industry matters.

The latest collection also reflects an 8.10% increase, or P5.947 billion more than the PhP73.397 billion collected in January 2024.
Customs commissioner Bienvenido Rubio reaffirmed the BOC’s commitment to advancing efficiency and collection performance. “Our priority is to sustain revenue growth while ensuring seamless trade and robust border protection,” Rubio said in a statement.
