The Bureau of Customs and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently apprehended counterfeit toys and other items with an estimated worth of P45 million in Guiguinto Bulacan.

Apart from counterfeit toys, the February 9, 2021 operation yielded helmets, steel, resins and machineries, among others.

The joint operation was conducted by the Manila International Container Port’s Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service and Enforcement and Security Service and NBI, and covered by a Letter of Authority signed by Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

Further investigation is underway for possible filing of cases for violation of Section 1400 of RA 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, and pertinent Intellectual Property Laws.
