The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has appointed new acting district collectors at the Manila International Container Port (MICP), Port of Manila, and ports of Batangas, Limay, Legazpi and San Fernando.

BOC assistant commissioner and spokesperson Atty. Vincent Philip Maronilla, in an online update on July 8, announced that Romeo Allan Rosales is returning to MICP as acting district collector, replacing Guillermo Pedro Francia IV. Prior to his appointment at MICP, Rosales was assigned at the BOC Intelligence Group but he was formerly district collector of MICP for about 15 years.

Francia is back as head of Limay, replacing Michael Angelo Vargas who was appointed acting district collector of the Port of Manila. Vargas takes the place of Arsenia Ilagan, who is being transferred back to the Port of Legazpi, replacing Alexander Go.

Switching places are Ma. Rhea Gregorio and Romalino Valdez. Gregorio is now acting district collector of Batangas and Valdez of San Fernando.

With the new appointments, Maronilla said “expect some reforms to be done there for the betterment of our service to our stakeholders.”

BOC has 17 collection districts headed by district collectors.
