The Bureau of Customs (BOC) generated P106.9 million in revenue from public auctions of seized and abandoned goods held from July to September 2025.

The auctions, facilitated by the Auction and Cargo Disposal Division at the Port of Manila, Manila International Container Port, and Ninoy Aquino International Airport, yielded a total of P106,926,450, the agency said in a media statement.

Items sold included consumer goods, vehicles, fuel products, industrial materials, furniture, and assorted merchandise from forfeited shipments.

Proceeds from the auctions form part of the agency’s overall revenue collection and directly contribute to government funds supporting essential public services and priority programs, BOC said.

In accordance with Section 1118 and Sections 1139 to 1151 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, and Customs Administrative Order No. 03-2020, the BOC is mandated to dispose of such goods through public auction, negotiated sale, or donation, ensuring transparency and compliance with established procedures.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized that the BOC’s transparent auction activities are consistent with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen fiscal discipline and improve customs operations.

“Through the consistent conduct of lawful and transparent auctions, the Bureau fulfills its dual mandate of protecting government revenues and facilitating legitimate trade,” Nepomuceno said.

The BOC, in a statement, reiterated its commitment to accountability and efficiency in all cargo disposal activities, emphasizing that unutilized resources must be optimized for the benefit of the Filipino people.
