Customs commissioner Bienvenido Rubio expressed confidence in BOC’s ability to hit the P1.06 trillion revenue target for the year
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has set five priority programs for 2025.
In his recent annual New Year’s call, Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio identified these as digitalization, trade facilitation, curbing smuggling, surpassing revenue, and enhancing employee welfare and conduct, BOC said in a statement.
While expressing gratitude for the perseverance and contributions of BOC employees throughout 2024, Rubio also called on the BOC workforce to remain resolute in upholding the agency’s three-fold mission.
“This 2025, let us set an even higher standard for ourselves and the Bureau of Customs. We should remain steadfast in guarding our borders, facilitating legitimate trade, and ensuring the lawful collection of revenue,” Rubio added.
Moreover, Rubio “reminded the BOC workforce of the core values that define the agency: professionalism, integrity, excellence, and accountability.”
Rubio acknowledged significant challenges ahead, particularly the agency’s P1.06-trillion revenue target for the year, a 12.8% increase from 2024’s target of P939.6 billion.
Rubio expressed confidence in BOC’s ability “to rise to the challenge through collective effort and resilience.”
