The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Subic has formally opened its newly constructed Customer Care Center (CCC), the fifth one-stop shop for customs services in the Philippines.

BOC-Subic’s CCC, inaugurated on September 8, will serve as a central hub or one-stop shop for customs-related transactions such as document receiving and releasing, payment, document tracking, and information provision, among others.

“The CCC aims to address the systemic corruption in the Bureau through a faceless transaction. In effect, stakeholders will be restricted from directly transacting with any Customs officials, examiners, appraisers and other personnel of the Bureau to minimize the opportunity for illegal practices. The CCC will be the main focal point of BOC stakeholders for all customs-related inquiries,” BOC said in a statement.

The Subic CCC will be manned by trained customs service personnel.

BOC is establishing CCCs as part of measures to enhance trade facilitation, as well as to comply with Republic Act No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.

The four other operational CCCs are at the Port of Manila, Legazpi, Batangas, and Surigao.
