BOC surpasses target anew with P75.5B Oct take
  • Customs revenue collection totalled P75.5 billion in October 2022, surpassing the target of P63.7 billion by 18.6%

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) collected P75.5 billion of revenue in October 2022, surpassing its P63.7 billion target for the month by 18.6%.

The October collection was also 35% higher than the P56 billion recorded in the same month last year, BOC said in a statement.

From January to October this year, BOC collected P714.3 billion and exceeded the P602.8 billion target for the period by 18.5%. The collection was also 37% more than the P525.4 billion collected in the same period last year.

BOC said it continues to implement “measures against revenue leakages, corruption, and smuggling while easing process bottlenecks.”

Acting Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz had said earlier that he remains confident BOC will surpass its full-year revised target of P733 billion by as much as 30%.

BOC has been surpassing its monthly revenue targets this year and has even posted in July its highest monthly collection to date at P84.424 billion.
