The Philippine Bureau of Customs on Tuesday suspended the accreditation of the importer and customs broker involved in the shipment of what turned out to be 605 kilos of shabu in Valenzuela City.
Eirene Mae Agustino Tatad, the sole proprietor of EMT Trading with business address at Rm. 807 Dasma Corporate Bldg., 321 Dasmariñas Street, Barangay 291, Binondo, was declared as the importer/consignee in the entry filed for the said shipment that were seized from two warehouses. Her accreditation has been suspended by the BOC Account Management Office as a result of the discovery of shabu.
In the same way, the accreditation of Teejay A. Marcellana as customs broker, with registered address at Rm. 525A, 5/f, FEMII Building, Soriano Avenue, Barangay 656, Manila, has also been suspended.
The suspension came amid the ongoing investigation of the BOC Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service on its recent seizure of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.4 billion.
