The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has approved an 8% increase in cargo-handling tariff at the Port of Tagbilaran, Bohol.

In Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 02-2018 dated February 28 and published March 11, PPA general manager Atty. Jay Daniel Santiago said the upward adjustment of the cargo-handling tariff at Tagbilaran port is pursuant to PPA Board Resolution No. 2686.

The cargo handler of the port had applied for the rate increase in 2013. The new rates will take effect on April 10, 2018.

PPA must also issue a revised schedule of tariff to reflect the adjustment.

The baseport of Tagbilaran handled 1.811 million metric tons of cargoes in 2017. Of the 2,808 vessels calling the port, 2,803 were domestic and only three were foreign.
