Cebu Pacific passengers made up nearly 50% of Mactan-Cebu International Airport’s (MCIA) total passenger traffic of 11.3 million for 2024.
Over 5.6 million passengers flew in and out of Cebu on Cebu Pacific last year.
For the first month of 2025, Cebu Pacific’s flights to and from Cebu also grew 34.7% to 4,824 flights from 3,580 in January 2024, driven by strong travel demand and network expansion, the low-cost carrier said in a statement.
Similarly, the airline’s seat capacity soared 51.6%, increasing to over 717,000 seats from nearly 473,000.
Cebu Pacific said the growth aligns with its mission to provide more accessible travel options to passengers, especially those in the Central Visayas region.
“Cebu Pacific’s continued growth in Cebu reflects the strong demand for affordable and accessible air travel in Central Visayas,” Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.
“By increasing our flights and seat capacity, we are not only connecting more passengers but also supporting tourism, trade, and economic opportunities across the region,” Lao added.
Cebu Pacific currently offers direct flights to 24 domestic and six international destinations from MCIA.
For 2024, Cebu Pacific flew 24.5 million passengers, 17.6% higher than the 20.9 million passengers it serviced in 2023. Seat load factor averaged 84.4%, while overall capacity in seats grew 17.1% to 29.1 million.
The airline currently operates in 37 domestic and 26 international destinations spread across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
