Cebu Pacific took delivery of its 16th aircraft for 2024, an A330neo (new engine option), on December 19.
“This aircraft enables us to serve high-traffic routes and long-haul destinations more effectively while optimizing seat capacity to accommodate increasing demand,” said airline president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao.
Two more aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of the year, he said.
The low-cost carrier aims to fly 24 million passengers this year from 20 million passengers served in 2023.
The airline currently operates a diverse lineup of ten A330s, 40 A320s, 25 A321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft.
To support its aggressive fleet expansion, Cebu Pacific earmarked a P60-billion capital expenditure for mostly aircraft-related investments in 2024.
Earlier this year, the airline finalized a landmark P1.4-trillion order with Airbus for up to 152 jets, with deliveries slated to begin in 2029. The additional aircraft are expected to strengthen its regional presence, particularly in Davao, Cebu, and Clark.

Cebu Pacific’s growth includes acquisitions, such as its recent purchase of AirSwift Transport Inc. from the Zobel family for P1.75 billion. The acquisition allows the airline to operate direct flights to El Nido, Palawan.
In line with its expansion goals, the airline launched new routes in 2024, including Manila to Chiang Mai and Don Mueang in Bangkok, as well as Cebu to Don Mueang, Osaka, Masbate, and San Vicente.
