The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) is implementing a 20% increase in domestic cargo-handling tariff at Cebu port starting July 1.

The across-the-board tariff increase in the ports of Cebu that includes cranage fee was approved by the Cebu Port Commission (CPC) on May 31, according to CPA Memorandum Circular No. 04 series of 2022 dated June 7. CPC is the governing body of CPA.

The memo noted the new rates were passed “in the interest of ensuring smooth operation of the domestic cargo handling services in the Port of Cebu…”

CPA earlier proposed a 25% increase, which was presented during a public hearing last April 21.

The last rate adjustment for domestic cargo-handling tariff was in 2019, when CPC also approved a 20% increase across the board, excluding stevedoring charges.
