Jiangsu Jingdong Cargo Airlines (JD Airlines) now flies six times a week between Zhuhai Jinwan Airport in Guangdong and Clark International Airport, strengthening cross-border e-commerce logistics between southern China and the  Philippines as well as the southeast Asian region.

A JD Airline Boeing 738 freighter carrying about 19.3 tons of goods departed Zhuhai for Clark on January 18, marking the start of the “Zhuhai–Clark” cargo service, as reported by the Info Guandong website.

The route is the second regular international freight service operated from Zhuhai Airport’s International Air Cargo Terminal and its first dedicated to serving the cross-border e-commerce sector.

The service primarily transports export-oriented e-commerce goods from the southern Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, providing air logistics support for major online platforms such as Shein and PDD.

Under the new service, e-commerce shipments from warehouses in the Pearl River Delta are consolidated and cleared at the Zhuhai Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park before being transferred to the Zhuhai Airport International Air Cargo Terminal. After security checks, cargo is flown directly to Clark in about two hours, allowing the entire cross-border delivery process to be completed within 24 hours.

Compared with exporting through inland airports, the Zhuhai-Clark route is expected to save 12 to 24 hours in logistics time and reduce overall costs by around 20%, while lowering risks linked to transfer delays and cargo damage.

Clark serves as a major logistics hub and free trade zone in the Philippines and is a key distribution center for Southeast Asian e-commerce.

As Zhuhai Airport’s first Southeast Asian destination, the route provides access to the Philippine capital region Metro Manila and an estimated online consumer base of about 60 million in the Philippines.

The launch follows the opening of the Zhuhai-Delhi cargo route on November 13, 2025, which operates four times a week. With the addition of the Clark service, regular international freight flights from the terminal have increased to 10 weekly.

Approved for operations in August 2025, the Zhuhai Airport International Air Cargo Terminal is the only open international air cargo terminal on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary. It has an annual handling capacity of 150,000 tons and can accommodate wide-body freighters such as the Boeing 777F and Airbus A330.

Zhuhai Airport plans to raise the frequency of the Delhi route to six flights per week by 2026 and to open new cargo links to other Southeast Asian hubs, including Manila and Kuala Lumpur, as it works toward exceeding 20 scheduled cargo flights weekly and building a four-hour air logistics network across Southeast Asia.
