Expansion supports rising regional and global aerospace demand
Collins Aerospace, a unit of American conglomerate RTX Corp., is expanding its manufacturing footprint at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) with the lease of an additional 7,846 square meters.
The company signed the new lease contract on January 8, 2026, FPIP announced in a news release.
Collins Aerospace has been operating at FPIP, located in Batangas province, since 2010 and the added space is aimed at improving operational efficiency, increasing production output, and supporting rising demand in the global aerospace sector.
The expanded facility is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2026.
Collins Aerospace manufactures cabin interior products, including galleys, galley inserts, lavatories, and seating systems. The company recently manufactured new economy class seats for the refurbished Airbus A321ceo fleet of Philippine Airlines, underscoring its growing role in the global aviation supply chain.
“FPIP has been instrumental as Collins has incrementally grown its Philippine-based operations, capabilities and expertise since 2012,” said Mary DeStaffan, general manager of Collins Aerospace’s Philippine campus. “This growth is critical for Collins to best support the rapidly growing aviation industry in-country and region, as well as airliners and airframers around the globe.”
Officials of FPIP – a joint venture between the Lopez group’s First Philippine Holdings Corporation and Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo Corporation – said the expansion highlights the Philippines’ increasing attractiveness as a base for advanced aerospace manufacturing.

“This expansion marks a major milestone for both Collins Aerospace and FPIP. It not only reflects the growing demand for advanced aerospace manufacturing in the country. It also highlights FPIP’s ability to support companies like Collins Aerospace in growing operations while generating employment for Filipinos,” said Yutaro Kuryu, senior vice president and head of FPIP’s industrial business group.
Kuryu added that the project goes beyond physical expansion. “This is not just about having a bigger space or bigger operations. It is about the impact they are helping the Philippines make in the global aerospace industry, and more importantly, the opportunities they are making for the Filipino workforce. Rest assured, we will continue to support them in every way we can.”
