Workers engaged in essential industries only need to show their company IDs or other proof of employment to pass through checkpoints, according to Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año.

In a statement, Año said employees returning to work don’t need to produce a travel authority, which is a requirement only for stranded individuals or returning overseas Filipinos.

A company ID or certificate of employment is enough proof that a worker is an Authorized Person Outside of Residence or APOR, or someone who is employed by an industry allowed to operate by the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Año said security personnel at checkpoints have a list of allowed industries to operate which will be matched with the company ID presented by employees seeking passage.

Philippine National Police checkpoints will remain in all areas under community quarantine, whether enhanced community quarantine, modified community quarantine, general community quarantine (GCQ), or modified GCQ.

Logistics service providers are included in the May 16 APOR list of the Joint Task Force Corona Virus Shield. Workers in the logistics sector should likewise be allowed to transit across areas placed under any form of community quarantine.
