Crafting a competitive edge for the local electronics industry is the theme of this year’s Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc.’s (SEIPI) gathering.

Now on its 19th year, the Philippine Semiconductor & Electronics Convention and Exhibition (PSECE) is scheduled from July 24 to 26, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center Manila. The gathering will also showcase activities that spotlight the industry’s advancements in technology and their significant economic impact.

The Philippine semiconductor and electronics industry remains a significant driver of the economy and the largest contributor to the country’s manufacturing sector. In 2023, the industry accounted for $45.64 billion, or 62.08%, of the country’s total commodity exports, employing over three million direct and indirect workers.

In May 2024, electronic exports continued to be the Philippines’ top export with total earnings of $3.85 billion, representing 60.91% of the country’s $6.33 billion total exports. In the same month, the industry accounted for $2.15 billion, 19.68% of the country’s $10.93 billion total commodity imports.

Themed “Crafting a Competitive Edge for the Philippine Electronics Industry within the Global Value Chain”, PSECE 2024 is expected to draw over 5,000 guests from the industry, government, and academe partners, as well as foreign dignitaries, business chambers and international partner associations in a discussion of current challenges and future opportunities in the industry.

The convention will cover topics “Advancing the Philippine Electronics Industry Landscape with Technological Innovations” and “Fostering a Robust Industry-Academe Partnership for a Competitive Workforce” as well as hold the ASEMEP National Technical Symposium (ANTS).

Over 200 foreign and local exhibitors will showcase their latest products, technologies and innovative solutions.

During the event, SEIPI will conduct its third-quarter general membership meeting/CEOs Forum under the theme “Raising the bar for the Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Industry to boost Economic Growth.” The forum will serve as a platform for updates on the latest industry trends and developments.

SEIPI is the leading organization of multinational and Filipino-owned semiconductor and electronics companies in the Philippines with 370 members, including manufacturing firms, allied and support industries, and the academe. The association aims to enhance and promote the global competitiveness of the country’s electronics industry.

PSECE has grown into the largest annual convention and exhibition of leading technology companies in the country. Over the years, it has evolved into a global event that provides a favorable venue for companies and countries to showcase their latest technologies, benchmark standards, share best practices, establish business linkages, and strengthen government-academe relations.

PSECE 2024 is supported by SEIPI’s annual business partners: First Gen, Globe Business, Meralco, PLDT Enterprise, and Aboitiz Power. Event sponsors include Mouser Electronics, Teradyne, and Universal Techno Piping Corporation (Gold); Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates and Eastern Communications (Bronze); Purple Tag (Major); and Airspeed, Converge Business, DHL, ELSAL Ventures OPC, and UPS (3-day Convention).

PortCalls is a media partner of the event.
