Germany-based DB Schenker, the transportation and logistics unit of Deutsche Bahn, has opened a new logistical warehouse and operations center in Sydney, Australia, to cater to the needs of Australia’s electronics, consumer, healthcare, and office supplies companies.

The 21,000-square-meter logistics center is the fifth distribution hub in New South Wales for Schenker Australia Pty Limited and the 16th Australian facility for the DB Schenker group.

The facility is using the “pick by voice” technology to ensure better storage and reduce product handling to save customers costs and order fulfillment time.

The multi-user distribution center has plug-and-play technologies for different systems and different customers, and is backed up with DB Schenker’s own warehouse management system to ensure flexibility.
