DHL Supply Chain (DSC) announced key leadership appointments in the Asia Pacific region.

Sivananthan Sukumaran (Siva), former DSC Indonesia managing director, has been named as the Head of Operations for DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia. His transition has paved the way for Matthias Gehrsitz to assume the role of the managing director of DSC Indonesia, effective January 1, 2024.

Additionally, Louis Liao has been appointed as the new managing director of DSC Taiwan.

DSC Asia Pacific CEO Javier Bilbao emphasized the significance of these appointments, stating, “Each of these leaders brings their own set of unique expertise and a proven track record in enhancing customer service and innovation.”

Bilbao added their roles are instrumental in navigating the teams through the ever-evolving logistics landscape, reinforcing DSC’s position as a global leader in contract logistics.

In his new position, Siva will be responsible for enhancing overall operational efficiency and performance, ensuring the successful implementation of new business wins across the organization’s Southeast Asian cluster. Siva, who joined DSC in 2014 as DSC Indonesia’s general manager of operations, has a history of driving growth and improving overall performance. Under his leadership, DSC Indonesia achieved recognition as the #1 Best Place to Work in 2023, certified as a Great Place to Work for four consecutive years since 2020.

Gehrsitz, who joins DHL after an 11-year tenure at DB Schenker Malaysia, where he held various roles in project management, tender management, solution design, and operations, will be tasked with continuing DSC Indonesia’s growth trajectory. Gehrsitz’s background includes leadership as the national head of business development and commercial management at DB Schenker Malaysia.

Liao, a familiar face to DSC, having begun his career as an assistant operations manager in DSC Taiwan’s service logistics operations team in 2008, has been appointed as the new managing director of DSC Taiwan. Prior to rejoining DSC Taiwan in 2024, Liao oversaw country strategy, planning, and implementation as the managing director of S.F. Express in Taiwan.

DSC Southeast Asia CEO Andries Retief highlighted the group’s commitment to the region.
