ASEAN-China Cross-Border Road Freight Network

Global freight forwarder Dimerco Express Group plans to launch a new cross-border LTL (less-than-truckload) trucking service in May designed to link by land the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) bloc and China.

After more than a decade of cross-border road freight services between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, Dimerco said in a statement it will extend its network routes to cover major hubs between ASEAN countries and China, including Singapore, Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Bangkok, Hanoi, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Chongqing.

“The road freight linkage will increase the connectivity in the region, and this new service will help transport the rising trade flows between ASEAN countries and China,” said company COO Edward Lin.

The new ASEAN-China LTL service will have a total transit time of seven days from Shenzhen to Singapore and will be further expanded to include eastern and western China. There are also plans to improve the service linkage with Myanmar and India, the company said.
