Local airlines handled 288.407 million kilograms (kg) of cargo in 2025, up 10.3% from the 261.505 million kg in 2024, according to preliminary data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).
Of the nine reporting airlines in CAB’s list, five posted throughout increases, three had decreases, and one had no comparable data for the period.
Cebu Pacific remained the top airline in terms of air cargo volume handled, accounting for 135.912 million kg or 47% of the total in 2025. The latest volume is up 19% from the 114.121 million kg posted in 2024.
PAL Express also maintained its spot at second in the 2025 list, representing 29.3% of the total or 84,591 million kg, down 9.7% from the 92.769 million kg it flew in 2024.
Philippine Airlines placed third with 38.55 million kg of the total, a 78.5% surge from 2024’s 21.597 million kg. With the latest throughput, PAL cornered 13.4% of the 2025 total throughput.
Still in fourth place was AirAsia Philippines with 6.3% or 18.075 million kg, a 13.7% decline from 20.955 million kg in 2024.
Air charter provider Island Aviation Corp. improved one rank to fifth in 2025 with 3 million kg or 1% of the total. Last year’s figure was also a slight improvement of 0.4% from the 2.988 million kg handled in 2024.
All-cargo airline Seair International also rose one place to sixth as it handled 19.9% more cargo at 2.799 million kg from 2.335 million kg previously.
Dropping two ranks to seventh was AirSwift Transport Inc., flying 54.3% less cargo last year with 2.274 million kg from 4.977 million kg in 2024.
Keeping its place at eight was Cebgo with 1.842 million kg, 4.9% higher than the previous 1.756 million kg.
Royal Air Philippines, which did not have reported volumes in 2023 to 2024, placed ninth with 1.364 million kg in 2025.
