  • The parcel that earlier came through Central Mail Exchange Center was found to contain 494 Ecstasy tablets

A multi-agency operation in Davao City recently resulted in the apprehension of two claimants of a parcel containing party drug Ecstasy with a street value of P839,800.

The illegal drugs were subject of a controlled delivery operation on February 4 in Elrio Vista Village by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI and Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in coordination with BOC-Davao, NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, BOC-Intelligence Group and BOC-Customs Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force.

Apprehended were claimants Christian Sulla and Kenneth Cajoles.

The parcel that earlier came through Central Mail Exchange Center under BOC-NAIA was found to contain 494 tablets of Ecstasy. They were immediately subjected to chemical laboratory analysis, and the shipment was later confirmed as Ecstasy.

BOC-NAIA turned over the illegal drugs to PDEA on January 18 for further profiling and case build up against the importers for possible violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in relation to Section 1401 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
