Emirates appointed Jassem Al Mulla as its new cargo manager for the Philippines to help boost SkyCargo operations in the country.

Jassem will focus on developing the cargo sector and supporting the local economy, particularly the growing micro, small, and medium enterprise sectors.

Emirates said Jassem “brings a wealth of experience to this role,” having held several important positions within Emirates since joining in 2009 as part of the UAE National program in IT. One of his notable achievements was contributing to the development of the Emirates Group Safety application, enhancing the company’s security strategy across its network.

Before assuming his new position in the Philippines, Jassem served as cargo manager in Morocco and Jordan. The airline company said his extensive experience underscores “Emirates’ commitment to fostering talent from within the organization” and promoting individuals with proven leadership skills and excellence.

Commenting on his new role, Jassem said, “It is an exciting time for cargo in the Philippines. With the country’s ongoing investment in improving the logistics infrastructure along with the growing demand for local exports, we are seeing an increased demand for specialized air cargo services and connectivity to key markets.”

He added that he looks forward to “working with the local team to ensure Emirates SkyCargo helps maintain the country’s momentum post-pandemic, supporting local businesses (to) export their goods across the globe.”

Emirates SkyCargo said the Philippines is a key market in its global network, with major exports including fresh fruits and vegetables and increasing demand for garments and electronics.
