FAST Logistics Group has launched FleXchange by FAST, its latest innovation designed to expedite cargo loading and delivery operations.

Launched during the Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines’ Supply Chain Conference on September 12, FleXchange is a systems-guided logistics solution that seeks to significantly enhance efficiency in warehouse and transport processes, FAST said in a statement.

It features detachable and stackable truck boxes that allow cargo to be loaded onto the boxes even before the truck arrives, reducing loading time by up to 97% or from four hours to just 20 minutes, minimizing delays in truck dispatch for deliveries.

FleXchange addresses several key pain points in logistics operations, particularly the tedious and lengthy loading process of cargo onto trucks. Usually, cargo and packages are loaded onto trucks once vehicles arrive at warehouses, which lasts for two to four hours.

The long waiting period creates delays in dispatching delivery trucks. Unforeseen issues like heavy traffic and intense weather conditions can also make trucks arrive at warehouses at a later time, thus slowing down warehouse operations and leading to delayed deliveries.

“With FleXchange, we’re not just offering a solution — we’re setting a new standard for the industry. We want our partners to enjoy the best technologies, the best innovation, and the best solutions to help you attain efficiency and operational excellence,” FAST chief executive officer for logistics Manuel Onrejas, Jr. said.

“FleXchange is a testament to what we can achieve when we innovate with purpose and partner with intent,” Onrejas added.

FleXchange features detachable, stackable two-ton truck boxes which can be lifted and moved using forklifts. Cargo can be placed inside these boxes while awaiting truck arrival.

Once the trucks arrive at warehouses, the boxes can be easily moved and attached to the trucks using forklifts and twist-lock devices.

Because FleXchange streamlines cargo loading, FAST said it effectively addresses challenges associated with congested warehouse staging areas and loading docks. By minimizing congestion in warehouses, it lowers the risk of picking and loading errors. Moreover, the optimization also leads to substantial cost savings by eliminating the need for overtime expenses for warehouse staff and drivers.

“Ultimately, these improvements lead to greater customer satisfaction, as quicker turnaround times and more organized inventory ensure that orders are fulfilled promptly and accurately,” FAST said.

FleXchange is also integrated with FAST’s transport management system and Honeywell’s warehouse management system, ensuring a smooth operational flow, precise picking and loading, end-to-end real-time tracking, and electronic proof of delivery. FAST said these features ensure that businesses have complete oversight of their shipments and can respond swiftly to any arising issues.

With goods secured and protected from potential damage during the loading and transportation process, FAST said businesses can have peace of mind knowing that their products are in safe hands.

FAST said FleXchange is expected to benefit a wide range of businesses, from fast-moving consumer goods companies to retail chains and distribution centers, by enhancing operational efficiency and enabling faster, more reliable deliveries.

“At FAST, we recognize that efficiency in logistics is not just about moving goods from point A to point B; it’s about optimizing every touchpoint in your supply chain. FleXchange is a significant leap forward in supply chain optimization,” said FAST chief solutions officer Israel Baleta. – Roumina Pablo
