FAST Logistics Group is extending cost-efficient logistics solutions to Bicol-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under a partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Camarines Sur and the Bicol Entrepreneurs Alliance (BEA).
The three entities signed a memorandum of partnership agreement (MOPA) on April 10 where FAST committed to delivering secure, timely, and cost-effective logistics services tailored to the needs of MSMEs in the Bicol region. The company also pledged to align its logistics operations with the delivery schedules and specific requirements of local entrepreneurs while providing value-added support to help them expand their reach.
DTI Camarines Sur committed to endorsing qualified MSMEs in need of logistics assistance for trade fairs and exhibitions to FAST, helping ensure the smooth implementation of support programs.
Meanwhile, BEA will encourage MSME participation in business events, trade fairs, and other logistics support initiatives.
This partnership is part of FAST’s commitment to empower Filipino entrepreneurs. Through this collaboration, FAST said MSMEs in Camarines Sur will gain access to scalable and cost-effective logistics services designed to help them grow.
“As a proudly Filipino company committed to nation-building, FAST is here to support Filipino businesses in reaching more markets and supporting more communities across the country,” FAST chief executive officer of logistics Manuel Onrejas, Jr. said in a statement.
The MOPA immediately took effect on April 10, and will remain in force until April 10, 2027, unless terminated earlier or extended by mutual written agreement among the parties.
During the event, Onrejas introduced Fixed Delivery Schedule (FDS) by FAST, a logistics solution that will enable Bicol MSMEs to transport their products to Manila reliably and affordably.
With FDS, FAST consolidates MSME shipments using 10-wheeler trucks departing from Cebu to Manila twice a week. These trucks pass through FAST hubs and full-service outlets in Ormoc, Tacloban, Sorsogon, Legazpi, and Naga, where goods are picked up and consolidated.
For greater convenience, FAST also offers pick-up services from nearby towns and cities and packages will be consolidated at designated full-service outlets.
While the current FDS route runs from Cebu to Manila, FAST is actively working on expanding to more locations, giving MSMEs access to its nationwide network of over 200 outlets.
FAST also committed to assisting DTI Camarines Sur and Bicol MSMEs in transporting their goods to Manila during trade fairs such as the OK Bikol Trade Fair.
FAST said adding Bicol to its growing logistics network presents an opportunity for MSMEs in the region to access cost-efficient, reliable, and convenient logistics solutions, empowering them to scale up and reach broader markets.
“Bicol is a vital part of our growing network, and we recognize the region’s strong entrepreneurial spirit. With the signing of this agreement with our partners from the government and the private sector, we are optimistic that FDS by FAST will be a game-changer for businesses in the region,” Onrejas said.
DTI Camarines Sur Provincial Director Jay Percival Ablan said logistics plays a critical role in leveling the playing field for small enterprises aiming to grow and broaden their customer base.
“By bridging the gap between production and market access through reliable and cost-effective logistics, we are empowering local entrepreneurs to scale up, compete more confidently, and reach customers far beyond our region. This is a vital step toward inclusive growth and sustainable development for Bicolano businesses,” Ablan said.
FAST said the partnership cements its position as a logistics solutions provider not only for top multinational companies and Filipino conglomerates, but also for the small entrepreneurs who are the backbone of the Philippine economy.
