FedEx has launched export permit services at select 2GO outlets nationwide.

The initiative aims to streamline the export process for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and e-commerce retailers by simplifying access to essential permits for international shipping, the company said in a statement.

The service covers a diverse range of goods, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key categories include:

• Fish and fishery products: Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources permits are now accessible for items such as live, fresh, dried, frozen, and chilled fish.

• Magnetic media storage devices: Certifications from the Optical Media Board for products like USB drives and hard disks.

• Consumer products: Food and Drug Authority permits for goods including medical drugs, food supplements, medical devices, soaps, creams, and toothpaste.

• Repair and return goods: Certificates of Identification to support export compliance for items sent abroad for repair and eventual return.

• Certificates of origin: Documentation available upon request to facilitate seamless international trade compliance for shippers or consignees.

The enhanced service responds to a critical need among Filipino SMEs and e-tailers, who often face challenges in navigating complex export regulations, FedEx said.

“This initiative empowers businesses to navigate international trade with confidence, enabling them to focus on growth while delivering products to global customers more efficiently,” the company added.

A FedEx October survey shows expectations for a surge in holiday sales in the Asia Pacific region.

The survey reveals businesses and consumers in Southeast Asia predicted growth in e-market sales to continue in double digits this year, driven by higher digital adoption and cross-border trade.

Expectations are that intra-Asia trade will exceed $13.5 trillion by 2030.
