Frabelle subsidiary FG Cold Storage developed the facility which features 7,200 pallet positions designed to optimize the logistics and distribution of food products.

“Its prime location provides easy access to the international port, major highways, and skyways, streamlining the logistics process,” FG Cold Storage said in a statement on Friday.

FG Cold Storage’s parent company Frabelle Cold Chain Group is part of the Frabelle Group of Companies, which holds interests in deep-sea fishing, aquaculture, canning, food manufacturing and processing, food importation and trading, cold storage, shipyard operations, wharf development, real estate development, and power generation.

The new refrigerated warehouse features 12 docking bays and ante rooms for large-scale operations, and high-density storage racking system to optimize space utilization.

It comes with eight cold storage rooms maintained at -25°C to maintain product quality.

The facility is designed to store frozen meat and vegetables, catering to the needs of marine traders and manufacturers.

FG Cold Storage said farmers’ cooperatives may rent the cold storage while they wait for completion of cold storage facilities being constructed by the Department of Agriculture.

The Cold Chain Association of the Philippines expects total cold storage capacity to grow 8% to 750,000 metric tons this year from 750,000 metric tons last year.
