President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Teofilo Guadiz III as chairperson of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Guadiz, whose appointment paper was signed on December 9, will replace Riza Marie Paches, who was named as officer-in-charge of the agency following the resignation of former LTFRB chief Cheloy Garafil in October.

Before his LTFRB appointment, Guadiz was an assistant secretary for the road sector in the Department of Transportation appointed. Previously, he was named as LTO chief in July until he was replaced in November.

He was also a former director at the then Department of Transportation and Communications and regional director of LTO-National Capital Region and LTO-Region 1 (Ilocos Region).
