Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), Hong Kong’s largest independent air cargo handler, bagged two major accolades at the 2026 International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo hosted by STAT Trade Times.

The company was named “International Cargo Handler of the Year” and received the “Best Marketing Campaign in Air Cargo of the Year–Highly Acclaimed” distinction, in recognition of its operational performance and global brand promotion efforts.

The cargo handler award cited Hactl’s sustained drive for operational excellence and innovation. Among the initiatives highlighted in its submission was the rollout of a 5G private network serving as a new digital backbone for Hong Kong’s busiest cargo terminal, supporting the next phase of the company’s growth roadmap.

Hactl also underscored the second phase of its intelligent cargo thermal detection system, which it said is elevating global benchmarks for cargo safety intelligence.

The marketing award recognized Hactl’s success in strengthening its global brand presence and maintaining a consistent, high-profile media footprint across international markets.

“These two honors are a tremendous testament to the hard work of all our colleagues who have been recognized for their ongoing dedication to being the best in air cargo. We are privileged to receive these awards for our efforts to set the highest possible standards for our industry. We thank the organizers and those who took the time to vote for Hactl,” Hactl acting chief executive Michelle Choi said in a press release.

Hactl operates SuperTerminal 1, a highly automated facility with an annual handling capacity of 3.5 million tonnes. Since its launch in 1976, the company said its continued investment and innovation have contributed significantly to Hong Kong International Airport’s rise as the world’s busiest air cargo hub.
