Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), Hong Kong’s largest independent air cargo handler, is the only Hong Kong airport community and logistics corporation to receive a Corporate Innovation Index (CII) Awards Certificate, having been ranked among the top 20 constituent companies, the company said in a statement.

The Corporate Innovation Index — which aims to promote both technological and non-technological aspects of corporate innovation culture — was established by the  Asia-Pacific Institute of Business (APIB), the executive education arm of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. The Index has been created with funding from the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong government.
APIB has developed a set of measurement matrices; these were applied to the responses to a highly-detailed questionnaire featuring over 100 questions on twelve separate aspects of the participants’ businesses. More than 200 companies took part in the survey, and their responses were then used to rank them.

The top scorers were announced at an award ceremony in Hong Kong, and received certificates recognising their efforts to empower Hong Kong’s economy through innovation. Cindy Ng, Hactl Executive Director—Information Services, received the CII Awards Certificate for Hactl from CUHK Business School’s Dean, Professor Zhou Lin and Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, Rebecca Pun Ting-ting.

“APIB’s standing is underpinned by its customised approach to providing courses to hundreds of companies and business schools, each course tailored to their specific needs in Hong Kong, the region and the world. This experience makes APIB a well-qualified arbiter of corporate innovation,” said Ng.
“We applaud the APIB initiative in launching this exciting project, we are proud to have been invited to participate, and we are particularly delighted that Hactl’s long-standing commitment to innovation has earned it a place so high up on the new Index.”
