Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s largest independent cargo handler – has been named Ground Handler of the Year at the 2025 Air Cargo News Awards.

The victory came at the prestigious annual awards ceremony held in London which celebrates excellence across the air cargo industry.

In a statement, Hactl said the awards recognize the outstanding achievements of the air cargo industry – from innovative solutions for complex transport challenges to investment in new technologies, services and innovations. Entrants had to deliver a submission outlining their achievements over the previous 12 months which were then judged by an independent panel of industry experts using a rigorous and robust process.

In the Ground Handler of the Year category, Hactl showed how it continues to innovate and lead the world in new handling initiatives. In 2024, Hactl has launched two new business boosts which show its leadership in the area: its specialist Lithium Batteries Storage Zone to mitigate fire risks, and its Cool Chain Complex for seamless climate-controlled handling.

Receiving the award, Hactl Chief Executive, Wilson Kwong said: “On behalf of the whole team at Hactl we are proud to receive this highly respected award. Handling is our business and we are pleased to have our ongoing commitment to our industry recognized. We would like to thank Air Cargo News for once again staging this important industry event and the judges for awarding this honour to Hactl.”
