Andre Majeres, IATA Head eCommerce and Cargo Operations, is giving a presentation on “e-Commerce Trends & Online Retailers Shipping Models” while David Wee, IATA Regional Manager Operations, Safety and Security (Cargo), Asia-Pacific, will examine “Global Air Cargo Trends & Capacity”.

Government authorities from the transport, trade, customs, and ICT sectors will also make their case at the event jointly organized by IATA, Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association, Inc., and PortCalls.

The Philippines Air Cargo Day is supported by Nippon Express (gold sponsor); Fast Logistics and Cebu Pacific (silver sponsors); Cargohaus and Cargoflash (bronze sponsors); and Airspeed (exhibitor). Airtropolis and InterCommerce Network Services are event partners.

The two-day gathering consists of two parts: the conference and exhibit on November 3, and the Dangerous Goods Workshop on November 4.

The November 3 conference will discuss:

  • international and local air cargo and ecommerce trends
  • updates on new government cargo initiatives and regulatory changes
  • cargo and postal handling standards
  • and preloading advance cargo information update to prepare for European Union Import Control System 2 implementation

There will also be panel discussions from leading practitioners and subject matter experts in air freight on these topics: lessons learned, measures taken to manage the pandemic; and newfound opportunities for digital adoption in the Philippines.

The November 4 Dangerous Goods (DG) Workshop, on the other hand, will update participants on changes in the IATA DG regulation for 2023. Participants for this day will get an electronic copy of the 64th edition of the IATA 2023 Dangerous Goods Regulation and a workshop certificate of participation.

The workshop will be led by David Brennan, Head Cargo Safety and Dangerous Goods, IATA.

The Nov 3-4 events will benefit airlines, ground service providers, freight forwarders, airport authorities, manufacturers, regulators managing air cargo operations and dangerous goods, and IT service providers.

Participants have the option to attend the entire 2-day event, or choose the day they only wish to participate in. Aside from the event, IATA is also conducting e-learning courses, which may be booked separately from the Philippines Air Cargo Day activities.
