Philippine-based port operator International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) has expressed interest in acquiring a stake in a Pakistani port.

ICTSI, through subsidiary ICTSI Mauritius Limited, said it was looking at acquiring 35-55% of the issued and paid-up ordinary shares of Pakistan International Container Terminal Limited (PICT), a company listed in the Karachi Stock Exchange.

PICT is a container cargo terminal located at the Karachi Port in Pakistan. It has a maximum handling capacity of 750,000 twenty-foot equivalent units. Last year, it handled 669,806 TEUs, 11% higher than the volume registered a year earlier.
